First full 3D iPhone Game

Epic has launched a full 3D iPhone game a.k.a “Infinity Blade” which is available at the appstore for the price of $6.

Epic, computer games company known for its Unreal game series, released today the iPhone game Infinity Blade for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. It is available for purchase for $ 6 through the appstore. This is the most advanced mobile game so far, using Epic Citadel -3D graphics engine – which is developed by the company. The engine supports lighting and shading effects, reflections and maps depth and able to run on mobile devices with high frame rate steady. The company unveiled the game and graphics engine last September during the Apple press conference under the name Project Sword.

Infinity Blade is a game of action / role. Players control the outgoing knight to fight against the king – to the fantastical kingdom. The game takes place entirely around an ancient castle built in three – dimensions. Players control is done by the touch screen – they can attack, block and move the sword depending on screen finger movements. You can also perform attacks, cast spells and special combinations. Knight will gain experience points and progress in levels. The company promised a sophisticated character development system that allows the knight to specialize in different fighting styles.

The game uses “Game Center” – the new social network for Apple’s gamers . Users can publish their achievements in the game and compete against other players in a score-board. Later, the company intends to add additional functions, including support for multiple Participants game – via Wi-Fi and 3G as well as to expand the game with more weapons and enemies.

Hasbro Brings 3-D ‘Binoculars’ to iPhone

Hasbro unveils My3D device that attaches to Apple’s devices like iPhone and iPod.

My3D is a device intended to provide iPhone users with a 3-D viewing on the go.

China’s largest toy maker is set to unveil to investors on Tuesday a handheld device called My3D that attaches to the two Apple Inc. devices. It promises 3D content that offers a 360-degree experience in gaming, virtual travel experiences and entertainment content. the company is claiming that the device is aimed at both children and adults.

The device, which looks like a pair of binoculars with a special slot in which users insert their iPod or iPhone, will be priced at $30. It will be available starting next spring at stores where Apple’s iPhones and iPod Touches are available.

Shoppers can then visit Apple’s App store, which will allow shoppers to browse for additional My 3D content. Content varies in price; some apps will be free, some obviously paid.

Movidius secures money for future 3D mobile content

Movidius, an Irish company has recently announced that it secured an amount of US$7.5 million from existing shareholders in order to support it’s groth plans and the continue of it’s Myriad video platform to also be able to provide 3D video content for the soon to be released next generation of 3D phones supporting 3d content including high resolution 3D movies.

This fundraising seems to be the beginning of a trend in the mobile industry that is always hungry for new cutting edge developments and it seems like like the latest trend is pushing towards 3D mobile content as well as towards 3D hardware to deliver it
